Our private cooking lessons are designed to be informative, hands-on and fun! Whether you're a beginner or a pro, these flexible lessons offer something for everyone, from the comfort of your villa or apartment. We also offer these classes in our family home in Assemini, Cagliari. They are available in English and Italian from passionate local Chef Francesco Mattana, who has 12 years of cooking experience in Italy, Australia and the UK and 8 years of teaching experience in some of the top cookery schools in London, including Head Chef at the Jamie Oliver Cookery School.
Chef Francesco has also released his debut cookbook, Eat Like A Sardinian, Live to 100, where he shows you how to re-create your favourite Sardinian dishes at home.
Our Classes
Authentic Sardinian Cooking (duration: 3 hours): €140pp* In this three hour class, you will learn how to prepare a typical authentic three course Sardinian meal.
To start, you will enjoy an antipasti board, before preparing the Sardinian gnocchetti alla campidanese (fresh homemade pasta served with a tomato sauce and pork ragù) and seasonal side dishes, paired with a glass of local Sardinian wine. To finish, you will make a typical dessert of seadas - fried, sweet raviolo, with a heart of melting pecorino cheese and drizzled with a local honey and served with a traditional "ammazzacaffè".

Authentic Homemade Pasta - (duration: 3 hours): €130pp* In this three hour class, you will learn how to prepare fresh Italian pasta and two delicious sauces.
To start, you will enjoy an antipasti board, before preparing the two sauces - a fresh tomato sauce and a delicious pesto to accompany your fresh pasta, along with traditional Sardinian bread, pane carasau. Chef Francesco will demonstrate how to make a range of pasta shapes, with and without a pasta machine, using both semolina and egg doughs. Then you will make this class your own by choosing which (or all!) of your favourite pasta shapes to make yourself. Enjoy your sauce and fresh pasta with a glass of local Sardinian wine, followed by an espresso and a traditional "ammazzacaffè".

Authentic Ravioli - (duration: 3 hours): €150pp* In this three hour class, you will learn how to prepare three different authentic Sardinian ravioli shapes and fillings:
Culurgiones - an iconic signature dish from the island, with a creamy butter, sage and lemon sauce.
Li Puligioni - mezzaluna ricotta ravioliin a rich tomato sauce.
Seadas - a giant, fried sweet raviolo.
To start, you will enjoy an antipasti board, before preparing the fillings for your pasta. Then you will make your dough and sauces before rolling and assembling your ravioli using traditional techniques. To finish, you will make a typical dessert of seadas - fried, sweet raviolo, with a heart of melting pecorino cheese and drizzled with a local honey and served with a traditional "ammazzacaffè".

*We operate mainly in Cagliari and South Sardinia including but not limited to Villasimius, Costa Rei, Porto Pino, Chia, Pula and Tortoli. For bookings outside of these areas including, but not limited to Costa Smeralda, Porto Cervo, Olbia, Orosei and Alghero, we are happy to offer classes but there will be an additional travel surcharge. All classes require a minimum of 2 adults.
Children over the age of 8 are welcome to participate, but one adult must be present per child and advanced notice is required. Prices for children are discounted at 50% of the original price pp.
