#NursesInTheKitchen is a project where we're inviting NHS workers to do something fun and interactive on their days off! It is a series of weekly live cooking classes over on our Instagram account @our_cookingjourney.
What started as an idea to help our friends and family in the NHS to switch off from the stress and craziness for an hour and relax, has now become something we are sharing with all NHS workers out there.
Hosted by us (Fran & Laura), these live sessions involve teaching them to cook a simple, nutritious (and delicious!) meal of their choice from scratch, using the ingredients they have available to them.
We have also asked our guests to share their experience of Covid-19 with our followers to raise awareness of the importance of staying home. How does it work?
We are hosting live sessions every week on Instagram, where we are joined (on screen) by workers from the NHS.
They will cook along with Fran, who is teaching them how to make a recipe using the things they have in their cupboard at home. It’s all about having fun, being creative and learning more about our guest.
Why should you follow our live sessions?
They're fun! If you fancy joining in for a laugh and a chat, this is for you. You'll be surprised how quickly an hour flies!
They're informative! As well as learning about cooking and nutrition, you can also hear a little about life as an NHS worker. Plus, we always share the full recipe the next day over on Instagram, Facebook and on our recipes page, so you can recreate the dish at home.
They're interactive! Viewers can ask us anything. If you want to know more about a cooking tip or technique, how you can make this recipe with the ingredients you have at home or you feel like asking our guests a question, the stage is yours.
What do you need to do?
